Satz, Edwin G

Edwin G. Satz was born on October 10th, 1920. His parents lived in Coatesville. He had three stepbrothers.

Edwin entered into the service December 14, 1941. His training was done at Fort Benning and he was shipped right over with no furlough. He was a private first class Marine, and was located in the Philippines. 

His three stepbrothers also served in the war:
  • Walter - First Class Marine
  • Calvin - Chief Laundryman for the US Navy
  • Russell - US Navy
Edwin died on December 5, 1944 of wounds while fighting in Leyte. He was buried at the Manila American Cemetery in Manila Philippines.  He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery.
