Clifford G. Quigley was born on January 1, 1916 to William J. and Sara Quigley in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the second oldest on three children. His father worked as a hosiery salesman.
In 1939, Clifford moved to Johnstown. He married and had two children. He later moved his family back to Coatesville where he worked at Chertok’s Furniture Store.
Clifford enlisted in the Army in early 1942, and after training was sent overseas to the European Theater. He rose through the ranks to become an First Lieutenant.
Lieutenant Clifford G. Quigley was killed in action on March 27, 1945 in Germany. He never saw his youngest child.
Clifford's brother William, served in the Navy during the war.
