Arthur Miller was born on September 25, 1922 to William and Alice Miller who lived in Oaks, Pennsylvania. Arthur was the youngest of six children
Arthur graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1941. He liked to play baseball and was a member of Saint Ann’s Church in Phoenixville. After high school, Arthur worked for the BF Goodrich Company.
Arthur married Katherine Millard of Phoenixville in 1943.
Arthur entered service in the Army in December, 1942. He received training at Camp Howze, Texas, and Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. After completing training, he was shipped overseas in September, 1944 to the European Theater of Operation with the 335th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division.
Sergeant Arthur Miller was killed in action on November 29, 1944, in Germany. His wife, Katherine was notified of his death by telegram on December 18th. Two weeks before his death, Katherine had received a letter from Arthur stating that he was preparing for his first combat with the enemy.
