Jack Weis (also listed as Weisberg) was born 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The family moved later to Chester County.
Jack entered service in the Army Air Corps October, 1942 and was commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in Army Air Corps in 1944.
Jack was sent overseas to the Pacific Theater of Operations. He served with the 868th Bomb Group (Heavy) base in Pitoe Airdrome, Morata, Motorai Island in the Halmahera group of eastern Indonesia's Maluku Islands.
Second Lieutenant Jack Weisberg was killed in action on July 17, 1944 over Morotai Island. His aircraft was on a mission to a bomb target Mahakan River Borneo. Trying to land, they mistakenly flew into a mountain. All 11 crewmembers were killed in action.
