Henck, Charles A

Charles A. Henck was born in 1921. He was one of 10 children. His family lived in Unionville, Pennsylvania, then later moved to a farm near Marshalton.

Charles enlisted in the Army in November 1939.  After training he was shipped overseas and participated in the North African campaign and later the landings on Sicily and Italy, assigned to the 191st Tank Battalion.

His brother George served in an Antiaircraft unit in the South Pacific. His eldest brother William was at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack.

Private Charles A. Henck was Killed In Action on February 19, 1944 in Italy. He was buried at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery in Nettuno, Italy.
